WHAT TEAM WILL YOU BE JOINING?

This role is in our Human Resources Team which is spread across our London, Manchester, Leeds, and Edinburgh offices and supports the business internationally. The HR Team includes various smaller teams such as Learning and Development, Reward, Resourcing, HR Operations, HR Business Partnering, and the CSR and Diversity team.

You will join the HR Business Partnering team and collaborate with the wider HR Team, key stakeholders, and partners within the business to provide guidance, support, and coaching.

WHAT WILL THE ROLE INVOLVE?

The role can be based in Leeds or Manchester, with some travel to other UK offices as needed. You will support the firm's growth and development through various projects, supporting colleagues across locations and teams.

You will work with core business service teams in the UK, using your business partnering skills to build strong relationships. Your role includes supporting operational HR tasks and helping drive strategic priorities.

The following outlines some of the responsibilities of a Senior HR Advisor:

Employee Relations
  • Work with line/HR Managers on absence cases, providing support and managing occupational health referrals or income protection forms.
  • Assist with day-to-day HR policies and procedures.
  • Provide benefits information and ensure benefits are applied correctly and timely.
  • Support employee relation issues like disciplinary or grievances, maintaining records.
  • Handle maternity or shared parental leave cases, flexible working applications, and return-to-work processes.
Resourcing
  • Support HR Managers in resource management, including vacancy approval and sourcing strategies.
  • Coordinate with HR Shared Services on staff changes and management information.
  • Assist with recruiting and developing apprentices and graduates, liaising with relevant teams and training providers.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes, including inductions and exit interviews.
Performance Management
  • Assist in performance management processes and documentation.
  • Support salary reviews and performance appraisals.
Other
  • Produce MI and reports to identify trends.
  • Lead or support ad hoc projects within the business services teams.
  • Assist with firm-wide engagement and inclusion surveys, recommending actions based on feedback.
WHAT SKILLS WILL HELP YOU BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE
  • Proactive HR team member with strong business partnering skills.
  • Graduate level, CIPD qualification preferred but not essential.
  • Experience as a generalist HR at a similar level, ideally in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of influencing at senior levels.
  • Ability to manage a complex, changing workload efficiently.
  • Strong team orientation.
  • Excellent multitasking and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, especially Excel.
