The team plays a critical role in supporting the growth of our Buildings Only, Contents Only, and Combined (Buildings + Contents) offerings, ensuring each is priced accurately and competitively. We are a digital insurance provider with a clear strategy to become the best and biggest player in the UK market. Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a cross-functional team of Actuaries and Data Scientists, fostering collaboration and innovation in the development of pricing models and risk-based analytics.
  • Oversee the creation and refinement of peril models, feeder models, and risk scores to support pricing and underwriting strategies for our Home book.
  • Drive the expansion and success of single cover products, and alternative pricing strategies, ensuring they are as robust and competitive as our combined product.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders across Underwriting, Pricing, and Account Management to ensure models are aligned with business needs and regulatory expectations.
  • Mentor and support team members in their technical and professional development.
  • Champion the use of modern machine learning techniques to enhance traditional actuarial approaches and deliver commercial value.
  • Communicate complex modelling outcomes to senior stakeholders and influence decision-making across the business.
Qualifications
  • Strong technical modelling skills, with experience in both traditional actuarial methods and modern machine learning.
  • Proven track record of delivering commercial value through data science in an insurance context.
  • Deep understanding of home insurance pricing, including peril-based modelling and funding considerations. Experience in other general insurance lines of business will also be considered.
  • Demonstrated ability to work across functions and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business-relevant insights and influence across functions.
