Job summary

A leading automotive service company in England is seeking an experienced HGV Technician responsible for routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections on various vehicles. The ideal candidate will possess over 4 years of experience and hold relevant qualifications. This position offers a competitive salary of £46,026 with overtime and requires strong mechanical and diagnostic skills. Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience as an HGV/Plant Technician required.
  • Apprentice trained and certified in Heavy Goods Vehicle Maintenance.
  • Valid HGV Class 1 (C&E) Licence preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections, maintenance and repairs on HGVs and trailers.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment.
  • Order vehicle parts in collaboration with workshop administration.

Job description
Responsibilities
  • Carry out routine inspections, maintenance, repairs & MOTs on HGV's, Trailers, Pool Cars & Other Plant to VOSA standard
  • Diagnose and rectify all types of mechanical & electrical faults using Texa diagnostic equipment
  • Dismantle, repair/replace faulty components and test the new ones are working safely
  • Liaise with HGV workshop administrator to order vehicle parts
  • Good communication and maintain a clean, safe and organised work environment
Location & Salary

HGV Technician Location: Bamber Bridge Salary: £46,026 - £18.44 per hour – 45 hour week Overtime paid at 1.3. Shift: Days – 7am – 5pm and 8am – 6pm – ½ Saturdays 8-12.

Qualifications
  • 4+ Years of HGV/Plant Technician experience
  • Apprentice trained and qualified to City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Goods Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent
  • Holds valid HGV Class 1 (C&E) Licence (Desirable)
  • MOT Preparation Experience – Tractor Units & Trailers
  • Previous experience working with HGV's and Plant, basic welding skills, hydraulic & auto electrical skills
  • Hardworking and can work well under pressure in a safe and responsible manner
  • IRTEC Accreditation (Desirable)
  • LOLER competence – experience in undertaking loler inspections – LEEA
