Job summary

A leading NHS Trust is seeking a Consultant in Care of the Elderly Medicine to strengthen their service delivery for elderly patients. You will join a team of experienced consultants and engage in practices that ensure high-quality care, including developing assessment clinics and working with various healthcare professionals. The role requires MRCP and specialist registration, alongside a demonstrated ability to lead and teach within the geriatric field. Competitive annual salary between £109,725 and £145,478 is offered.

Qualifications

  • MRCP required, must be on the GMC specialist register for Geriatric Medicine.
  • Demonstrated clinical experience in geriatric medicine is crucial.
  • Enthusiasm for teaching postgraduate doctors and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Strengthen geriatric service delivery across the hospital.
  • Participate in rehabilitation ward rounds and MDTs.
  • Develop rapid assessment clinics for elderly patients.

Skills

High level of clinical experience in geriatric medicine
Ability to offer expert clinical opinions
Understanding of current issues in geriatric medicine
Ability to work with and lead others
Wide based experience in General Medicine
Experience in clinical teaching

Education

MRCP or equivalent
Specialist registration for Geriatric Medicine
Ongoing Licence to Practise
