Senior Geo-Environmental Consultant

Salary: £48,000 – £56,000

An established environmental consultancy is seeking an experienced Senior Geo-Environmental Consultant to take a leading role in delivering and managing a diverse portfolio of land quality and remediation projects across London and the South East. This is a senior, hands‑on position offering genuine career progression and the chance to shape technical delivery across major development schemes.

What the Senior Geo-Environmental Consultant role entails:

You’ll be responsible for planning and managing ground investigations, interpreting complex data, and producing high‑quality technical reports. You’ll lead the development of conceptual site models, undertake quantitative risk assessments, and design effective remediation strategies. The position also involves guiding junior team members and contributing to business development and project efficiency.

Key Tasks

• Design and oversee Phase I‑III site investigations.
• Prepare interpretative reports, risk assessments and remediation specifications.
• Carry out contaminated land assessments (soil, groundwater, gas, waste classification).
• Review technical outputs and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate with geotechnical, design and field teams throughout project delivery.

Requrements to be considered for the Senior Geo-Environmental Consultant role:

You’ll have a degree (BSc/MSc) in a relevant environmental or engineering discipline, with 7-10 years’ experience in site investigation, contaminated land assessment, and remediation. A strong understanding of UK guidance (LCRM, BS10175, BS5930, waste classification) is essential.

You’ll live in or near to East London, hold a full UK driving licence, have a full right to work in the UK and CSCS card. Experience in geotechnical design review or professional chartership (or working toward it) is advantageous.
