Senior FinOps Engineer

(Azure Cloud Cost Optimisation)

We’re partnering with a well-established software company undergoing a major transformation and looking for a Senior FinOps Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the company’s cloud cost strategy and have a tangible impact on its future.

This is a hands‑on role. You’ll be the FinOps SME, building internal tooling, automating processes, and guiding teams to make smarter, data‑driven decisions. You’ll work closely with engineering, finance, product, and architecture teams, influencing strategy while remaining deeply involved in delivery.

What you’ll do
  • Act as the FinOps subject‑matter expert, setting standards for cost governance and optimisation.
  • Build internal tools and automation to collect, analyse, and visualise cloud cost and usage across Azure and AWS.
  • Partner with engineering teams to optimise cloud spend and ensure cost‑efficient architectures.
  • Identify and prioritise improvement opportunities across the cloud estate.
  • Innovate in cost modelling, forecasting, reporting, and automation.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to define strategy, governance, KPIs, and processes.
  • Promote best practices and a culture of financial accountability.
