Senior Finance Business Partner (20 Month Contract)

Robertson Bell are delighted to be supporting a leading employer, based in York, to recruit a Senior Finance Business Partner on 20 month contract. This is a hybrid role, with office attendance expected two days per week.

This requirement has been created by two key programmes of transformation; the implementation of a new ERP system and change to the finance structure, which will reduce time spent on management reporting and facilitate more for business partnering.

The Senior Finance Business Partner will be responsible for:

  • Working with the business to set budgets and monitor spend throughout the year, updating forecasts and providing financial guidance on spend.
  • Building trust and robust relationships with stakeholders to facilitate challenging conversations and influence decision making.
  • Supporting stakeholders in understanding their numbers, explaining complex financial concepts in simple terms.
  • Identifying saving and investment opportunities as the organisation looks to maximise income while controlling spend.
  • Appraising new business proposals and creating cases for escalation, when required.
  • Overseeing an experienced and highly capable Finance Business Partner.

My client is looking for:

  • A qualified finance professional with a background in business partnering, or wider financial management and looking to step into a finance business partnering role.
  • Someone with strong relationship building skills and the ability to simplify financial concepts and have difficult conversations, when needed.
  • A level of assertiveness, proactivity and autonomy in approach to work.
  • Competency with technology, including ERP systems, MS Excel and presentation tools.

Availability is crucial; you will need to be able to start a role in advance of the end of January, at the very latest, but ideally sooner due to the fast moving nature of the organisation's transformation.
