Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Senior Facade Access Engineer to join our expanding team in London. As an experienced professional—ideally holding professional accreditation or actively pursuing it—you will bring an extensive portfolio demonstrating your expertise and capabilities. You will deliver design services across a diverse and challenging range of projects, varying in scale, complexity, sectors, and geographies.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with clients, architects, and design teams to develop tailored façade access and maintenance strategies.
- Perform cleaning‑cycle calculations and define approximate structural loadings.
- Prepare high‑quality technical reports at key project milestones.
- Conduct site surveys, inspections, and oversee quality during installation and post‑completion phases.
- Specify modernisation or replacement works for existing systems.
- Attend and lead client meetings, site demonstrations, and defect inspections.
- Perform maintenance audits and work‑at‑height risk assessments.
- Develop lifecycle plans and support clients with maintenance procurement and technical advice.
- Manage BMU (Building Maintenance Unit) packages and ensure delivery excellence across all project stages.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with façade access (cradle) service providers or installation companies.
- Background in engineering services inspection, with a strong focus on building maintenance systems.
- Degree‑qualified in Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Deep technical expertise in the design, specification, and consultancy of façade access systems.
- Thorough knowledge of industry standards, safety regulations, and best practices for access and maintenance strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects independently and lead technical discussions with clients and stakeholders.
Skills
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical information in both internal and client‑facing settings.
- Technically proficient, with solid experience using relevant engineering software and tools.
- Confident problem‑solver, capable of addressing complex technical challenges with practical, effective solutions.
- Highly organised with excellent time‑management skills, ensuring deliverables are completed to a high standard and within agreed deadlines.
- Professional, approachable, and responsive in all interactions, building and maintaining positive working relationships with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
