Job description

We’re looking for a Senior Estimator (Remote) for a principal contractor based in Exeter. The role is primarily remote, but must be able to get into the office when required.

Salary : £75,000

Hours : 8 : 30–5 : 00 (flexible)

Location : Remote with occasional travel to Exeter

Responsibilities
  • Ensure project costs comply with scope, client requirements, and legislation.
  • Work with the preconstruction team to secure and convert tenders.
  • Produce accurate, robust cost plans through all design stages to target price.
  • Advise the design team and client on affordability.
  • Identify risks, opportunities, and value‑adding solutions.
  • Cost and track design changes through RIBA stages.
  • Complete or manage detailed take‑offs (SMM7 / NRM2 / building quantities).
  • Provide full cost‑substantiation packs at handover, including comparisons, BOQs, tender books, and quotations.
  • Coordinate with design leads to incorporate design fees into tender summaries.
  • Assess the cost and impact of design changes and alternative solutions.
Requirements
