BCL Legal is delighted to be working with a highly respected national law firm in their search for a senior environmental lawyer to join their growing team in Birmingham. This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Associate, Legal Director, or Partner-level candidate to take a leadership role within a nationally recognised Planning & Environmental practice. The role offers the chance to work on complex, high-profile matters with a strong pipeline of national work and the flexibility of hybrid working.

The Role

As a senior member of the Environmental team, you will:

• Advise on a wide range of environmental matters including regulatory compliance, permitting, environmental liabilities, and enforcement.
• Support major real estate, corporate, and infrastructure transactions through environmental due diligence and risk management.
• Advise clients across public and private sectors including local authorities, developers, and corporates.
• Handle both contentious and non-contentious environmental issues, including Environmental Information Regulation (EIR) matters.
• Lead on client relationships and be actively involved in marketing and business development initiatives.
• Support and mentor junior team members, while playing a key role in shaping the future growth of the team in Birmingham and nationally.

About You

• At least 6 years' PQE in environmental law, ideally from a leading national or international practice.
• Strong technical expertise across a broad range of environmental matters.
• Excellent communication skills and a commercial, solutions-driven approach.
• The ability to manage complex matters independently and act as a trusted advisor to clients.
