You will be a confident individual, passionate about architecture and making a difference, able to build effective relationships at all levels (up to and including Executive level). In conjunction with the Commercial Platform owners and senior business partners across Commercial, you will build, evolve, and promote clear and comprehensive technology strategies that align with Group strategy and enable business teams to deliver the best customer outcomes. You are ultimately accountable for all architecture decisions, continually influencing, challenging, and supporting the Commercial teams to build and align to their strategic roadmaps, alongside acting as the voice of the customer and facing into all the Group Enabling Platforms to facilitate delivery of the business roadmaps. You will build and sustain strong partnerships with platforms and functions, promoting, communicating, and evangelising the Bank’s strategies. You will understand the Commercial banking industry, build relationships with relevant third party vendors and act as a senior partner to help them evolve their products and services to better meet the needs and strategies of Commercial clients.

Responsibilities

  • Understand the Commercial business domain, including key products and propositions, market trends, regulatory and competitor landscapes, and the implications for architecture.
  • Evaluate and apply emerging technologies where appropriate, assessing maturity and potential business impact, including long-term strategy alignment.
  • Demonstrate gravitas and impact through strong storytelling in written and verbal communications.
  • Lead by example in establishing a culture of continuous improvement and driving innovation within the architecture function.

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills for collaboration with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven success in establishing a culture of continuous improvement and driving innovation.
