Qualifications

• Strong experience producing electrical designs for power generation remote systems or renewable energy projects.
• Solid understanding of BS 7671 Wiring Regulations.
• Experience with VSD-controlled motors and MCCs is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Produce and review electrical calculations, specifications, and drawings.
• Deliver power cable calculations and electrical building services designs.
• Ensure design documentation meets requirements.
• Support equipment selection and technical decision-making.
• Contribute to and support HAZOP studies.

Electrical Design Engineer – Senior

Our client is a leading UK-based energy and engineering consultancy specialising in the design and delivery of low‑carbon energy infrastructure. They work across both the public and private sectors, supporting hospitals, universities, residential developments, commercial buildings and large‑scale urban projects to decarbonise heat and power systems. Their work plays a key role in supporting the UK’s Net Zero ambitions through innovative, sustainable energy solutions. They are growing 20% YoY and have a team of 125 MEP Engineers across the UK.

The Role

Our client is looking for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to take a leading role in the technical delivery of renewable energy, sustainability and power infrastructure projects.

You will be responsible for producing and coordinating detailed electrical designs, supporting diesection and contributing to safe, compliant and efficient engineering solutions across multiple project stages.

Key Responsibilities

• Producing and reviewing electrical calculations, specifications and drawings
• Delivering power cable calculations, C&I cabling designs and electrical building services designs
• Ensuring design documentation meets project, client and regulatory requirements
• Supporting equipment selection and technical decision‑making
• Contributing to and supporting HAZOP studies

Skills & Experience Day**

• Strong experience producing electrical designs for power generation remote systems, renewable energy or building services projects
• HNC / HND in Electrical Engineering (Circine preferred)
• Solid understanding of BS 7671 Wiring Regulations
Experience with Amtech (advantageous)
• Knowledge of VSD‑controlled motors, MCCs, andatea system consonants (advantageous)
• Full UK manual driving licence
