Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Ecologist to join a well-established environmental consultancy based in Winsford, Cheshire, established since 1997. With a current headcount of 14 you will be working from their collaborative office environment. You will play a key role in supporting a range of planning and environmental permitting projects for waste management and minerals developments across the UK.

Responsibilities

Senior Ecologist with a strong work ethic and the confidence to take initiative without relying heavily on others. You\'ll take ownership of your workload, contribute effectively within multi-disciplinary teams, and provide expert ecological input across a range of nationwide schemes. The role is primarily office-based, with regular travel to sites across the UK, working closely alongside surveyors and planning consultants.

Requirements

• 3-4 years minimum experience working as an Ecologist.
• Confident working by yourself
• Comfortable with regular travel to project sites across England
• Strong initiative and a proactive, can do attitude
• Strong understanding of UK habitats, protected species and relevant planning legislation
• Ability to lead and deliver ecological surveys and reports to support planning and permitting applications
• Confident liaising with clients, regulators and internal technical teams
• Full UK driving licence
