Job summary

About the role

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a temporary Senior Development Assessment Planner to join our team.

Candidates seeking consideration for the temporary Senior Development Assessment Planner position must have demonstrated practical experience in the assessment of a wide variety and complexity of development or modification applications and satisfy the qualification requirements of the role.

While applicants are not required to have experience acting as an expert for the NSW Land and Environment Court or presenting to Local Planning Panels State and Regional Planning Panels or Urban Design Review Panels applicants are encouraged to outline any experience or exposure they have had to Court processes and Panels within their application.

Essential Criteria
  • A tertiary qualification in Planning
  • Demonstrated senior experience in the assessment and determination of a wide range of development applications and / or senior experience as a planning professional
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
Desirable
  • Experience in mentoring
Commencing Salary

Commencing Salary: $107058.00 with performance progression up to $123924.00 plus 12% Superannuation

Access to a Leaseback Vehicle or Motor Vehicle Allowance is available with this position; however it is not a condition of employment.

You will be required to undertake employment checks which may include a Criminal History Check Qualification Check Working with Children Check Medical Declaration and / or a Functional Test as relevant to the position for which you have applied. Where a Criminal History Check is required and has returned a result that indicates disclosable court outcomes you will be required to provide a copy of the report to Penrith City Council for review in order to progress through the recruitment process.
