We put data at the heart of every decision we make. You'll be part of the Data & Analytics team whose job is to enable Onfido to access insights and advanced analysis, and to provide quality datasets for our ML models at the core of our business. In this role, as a Senior DataOps Engineer, you will be responsible for expanding our data platform and designing, implementing, and maintaining data tools for our 500+ internal user community and our clients. Daily, you’ll closely collaborate with AI scientists, developers and analytics teams.

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement new modules of our data platform, including the infrastructure and the data pipelines for data ingestion, processing, and storage
  • Collaborate with development and analytics teams to ensure data quality and availability
  • Provide tooling for the MLOps and AI teams to allow them to source quality datasets to train the ML models
  • Implement monitoring and collaborate with Onfido and Entrust security teams to ensure data security
  • Contribute to defining data strategies and roadmaps for data infrastructure
Requirements
  • Extensive experience working in DataOps or data engineering
  • Proven experience using DataOps tools and technologies such as Apache Airflow, Apache Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes in a professional environment
  • Experience with analytical databases (Snowflake, BigQuery or Redshift) and knowledge of data storage systems and formats such as Iceberg, Delta Lake
  • Ability to create and maintain a data infrastructure using an Infrastructure as Code tool like Terraform
  • Fluent in at least one programming language such as Python, Java, or Scala
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL and SQL optimisations
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana or Datadog
  • Knowledge of data security principles and compliance
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
