Overview

Senior Commercial Contracts / Construction Lawyer - Interim

Panoramic Associates are supporting a public sector client who are seeking a Senior Commercial Contracts / Construction Lawyer to provide interim support. This is an immediate requirement to cover a gap in their construction expertise, with an initial contract of 3 months and potential for extension.

Responsibilities
  • Advising on and drafting large-scale construction contracts (JCT, NEC, call-off agreements)
  • Supporting projects delivered through regional frameworks and arm's-length organisations
  • Providing wider commercial contracts support alongside construction work
  • Procurement involvement and advising on project delivery risks
  • Client-facing responsibilities, including progress reporting and stakeholder engagement
Essential skills
  • Strong experience in construction law (JCT, NEC, call-offs)
  • Solid background in commercial contracts
  • Confident communicator, able to build client relationships and provide clear reporting
  • Experience working with arm's-length organisations
Desirable skills
  • Local government experience, particularly governance and member engagement
  • Wider commercial experience beyond construction law
Key details
  • Rate: Up to £60-65 per hour
  • Location: Remote, with occasional in-person meetings if (not mandatory)
  • Hours: Full-time
  • Contract length: 3 months minimum, with scope for extension
  • Start date: ASAP (flexible for the right candidate)
