Overview

Senior Director – Cloud Operations and Delivery. Location: Cwmbran, Wales – hybrid working (~2 days per week in office). Department: ION/OPF Delivery and Operations. Reports To: SVP – Media & Entertainment Product Engineering. Type: Full-Time | Senior Leadership.

Role Overview: We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Senior Director of Cloud Operations and Delivery to lead and scale our OpenTV Service Platform delivery teams towards excellence in service availability and performance, combined with strong efficiency in turnkey customer integration projects. This role is pivotal in ensuring effectiveness of operations & deliveries within cloud ecosystems. From project signoff to customer launch, driving operational excellence allows us to meet customer expectations while maximizing project profitability.

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in AWS cloud deployment, service reliability, scalability and performance. Combined with end-to-end system integration practice, a strong focus on SLA and cost efficiency of our cloud operations, as well as accelerating customer launches.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy

  • Define and execute the strategic roadmap for system integration delivery across multiple product deployment projects and customer engagements.
  • Lead cross-functional teams including Service Reliability Engineering, Product and Customer integration teams, as well as Delivery Managers to ensure alignment and accountability on customer deliverables.
  • Champion continuous improvement and innovation in delivery methodologies and operational processes in DevOps team enabling scale across dozens of customers, to accelerate time to market while reducing cost of delivery.
  • Drive a continuous improvement plan focused on excellent SLA delivery (Availability, Performance, Scalability & Security) combined with cost optimization, particularly optimizing AWS and cloud infrastructure budgets.

Platform Ownership & Cloud Operations

  • Take full ownership of the 24/7 running of the OpenTV Video Service platforms in the cloud, ensuring high availability and operational excellence.
  • Ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of the product across all environments.
  • Lead initiatives to reduce operational costs while improving service quality.

Customer Integration

  • Oversee customer onboarding and integration processes, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of system solutions.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex integration challenges, driving resolution and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Customer Success, and Technical teams to ensure customer requirements are accurately captured and delivered.
  • Ensure customer integration is seamless, with a focus on AWS-based deployments and cloud-native architectures.

Delivery Management

  • Manage a team of Delivery Managers responsible for executing integration projects across various domains.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs, SLAs, and delivery metrics to ensure consistent performance and quality.
  • Implement governance frameworks and risk management practices to ensure project success.
  • Oversee the deployment of projects, including integration, release validation, and budget management.

Product Alignment

  • Work closely with Product leadership to ensure integration capabilities align with product strategy and roadmap.
  • In close collaboration with Senior Director of Product Architecture and Senior Director of Product Engineering, build a result-oriented improvement plan to increase efficiency of operations & delivery as well as SLA improvement.
  • Ensure delivery teams are equipped with the right tools, documentation, and training to support product deployments.
  • Lead end-to-end integration, including reliability, performance, and scalability testing.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Proven experience (10+ years) in system integration, delivery operations, or related fields, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven experience in running AWS cloud deployment and delivering excellent SLAs on large-scale cloud systems serving millions of users.
  • Strong background in managing cross-functional teams and large-scale integration projects.
  • Deep understanding of enterprise systems, APIs, cloud platforms, networks and integration technologies.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience in Agile, DevOps, and modern delivery frameworks.
