Job description

Our client, a leading UK developer is looking for a senior civil engineer to join their in-house engineering team. This is an opportunity to take charge of roads and drainage infrastructure projects from feasibility stages through to completion. The role is crucial to the successful delivery of their projects, it provides a path to senior management.

Your Role: Reporting to the technical director, you will provide design, technical advice and management support culminating in the successful delivery of roads and drainage infrastructure. You will help to direct, support and mentor junior engineers and check the quality of their work. Your involvement will span the whole design and development process, including; providing advice at land purchasing stages, the management of detail design, design input, overseeing the adoption process, monitoring of projects on site and technical advice during construction.

Their reputation for quality is long established, it has been achieved through careful control of the whole development process. Integral to this is a technical services division, providing architectural and civil engineering expertise on projects from inception through to completion. An ongoing programme of training and development is in place for all staff and they run an ICE approved training scheme.

Profile Required: Incorporated or chartered with the ICE, CIWEM, or an equivalent body. An experienced candidate who needs training and mentorship to achieve chartership would also be seriously considered. Your background should have a focus on the design and delivery of developer led roads and drainage infrastructure. A consulting engineering background is preferred, this should include some experience of managing junior engineers, allocating work and checking completed designs. A good understanding of the design and adoption process for roads and drainage. There will be regular site visits, a valid UK driving licence is required.
