Senior Children’s Residential Care Worker

Salary: Up to £32,400 (Including Sleep Ins Allowance)

Make a difference in the lives of children and young people as a Senior Residential Care Worker. This full-time role offers the opportunity to work in a supportive, nurturing environment, providing high-quality care and guidance to children while contributing to a positive team culture.

As a Senior Residential Care Worker, you will support children and young people with their daily needs, challenging behaviours, and personal development. You will also take on key responsibilities such as acting as a keyworker, leading shifts when needed, and contributing to staff and care planning meetings.

What We’re Looking For

  • Level 3 in Caring for Children and Young People or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience working with children and young people, particularly supporting challenging behaviour.
  • Competence to lead shifts and provide guidance to other staff when needed.
  • Good understanding of safeguarding policies, procedures, and best practice.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to supporting the development and wellbeing of children.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day care and support to children and young people, including those with challenging behaviours.
  • Act as a keyworker, supporting individual care plans and maintaining accurate records.
  • Lead shifts when required, ensuring smooth running of the home and maintaining a safe environment.
  • Attend monthly supervision, staff meetings, and external meetings as required.
  • Uphold safeguarding policies and procedures, ensuring the welfare and safety of all children.
  • Support the development and wellbeing of children through positive relationships and structured activities.
  • Contribute to team discussions, sharing insights and ideas to improve care quality.
