Main Responsibilities
- Manage and provide direction to the kitchen team in the provision of services within the Catering Department and to College Facilities.
- Ensure the delivery of three meals per day throughout term time and during the Summer Language School ‘term’, and one meal per day for non‑teaching staff at other times.
- Supervise all areas of preparation, cooking and serving to maintain high quality and safety standards.
- Plan and coordinate kitchen operations to meet service deadlines and hospitality requirements.
- Train and coach staff, ensuring a positive and efficient work environment.
Qualifications and Skills
- Passion for providing excellent customer service.
- Strong background in a high‑volume/ high‑quality establishment.
- Excellent time‑keeping and time‑management skills.
- Proficiency in cooking and preparation across all kitchen areas.
- Intermediate Food Hygiene qualification (preferred).
- Knowledge of allergen legislation and special diet requirements.
- Familiarity with Health & Safety requirements in a catering environment.
- Capacity to work on feet for long periods and handle manual tasks.
- Leadership skills: motivational, training, and guidance of staff.
- Strong work ethic – reliable, punctual, and committed to quality.
- Attention to detail and problem‑solving ability.
- Clear communication skills for instruction and feedback.
