Main duties of the job

Your focus as a Senior Care Assistant will be to support and work alongside the Care team to deliver high standards of personal care, providing a safe, caring, innovative, open, supportive, and inclusive environment for residents, visitors and staff. Other responsibilities include monitoring the wellbeing of each resident, being involved in the person-centred care planning process, supporting residents with their medication requirements, undertaking staff supervisions and supporting staff development where required.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your focus as a Senior Care Assistant will be to of personal care, providing a safe, caring, innovative, open, supportive, and inclusive environment for residents, visitors and staff.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring the wellbeing of each resident, being aware of any change impacting care plans, ensuring new needs are met, and writing records to reflect variations.
  • Being involved in the person-centred care planning process, implementing, monitoring, and undertaking monthly evaluations.
  • Supporting residents with medication requirements.
  • Undertaking staff supervisions and supporting staff development where required.
  • Acting as a key point of contact with residents, relatives, and visitors, as well as health and social care professionals involved in their wellbeing, ensuring reasonable requests are acted upon and concerns or complaints are escalated.

  • To be successful you must have an NVQ 3 or equivalent in care for care homes, 2 years’ experience in a similar environment, the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, and a positive attitude to supporting and nurturing residents and staff.
