Senior Care Assistant

Location: Stafford, ST18 0RD

Salary: £13.70 per hour

Contract: 24 hours per week (Permanent) / Zero Hour (Bank Contract) available

Job Role

The Senior Care Assistant will report to the Care Manager and be responsible for all aspects of the physical and emotional care of clients and provide leadership of the team, including the supervision and training of staff. The role will also involve providing close liaison with professional agents.

Main Responsibilities
  • Take responsibility for the home and ensure it meets company objectives in the absence of the Care Manager.
  • Administer and record medication in accordance with the Medication Policy.
  • Give a daily report to the person in charge at the end of each shift concerning the care delivered to residents, noting any changes.
  • Maintain liaison with professionals in a multi-agency approach.
  • Provide supervision and support to the staff team.
  • Participate in the planning of care programmes and prepare care review reports.
  • Assess the care practice of all staff, ensuring the objectives of the home are met.
  • Supervise and be involved in all aspects of the holistic care of the resident group.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
  • Medication experience and relevant certifications.
  • Own transport or ability to get to work; public transport available.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills.
  • Flexibility in shift patterns.
  • Working towards NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
