• Proven leadership in Building Control within a local authority.
• Strong commercial acumen with a track record of income generation.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Council’s Building Control service ensuring compliance with Building Safety Act 2022.
• Provide strategic and operational leadership across the Building Control function.
• Deliver a risk‑based operational strategy aligned with Building Safety Regulators’ requirements.
• Represent the Council in legal proceedings.
