A healthcare provider in England is seeking a Senior Audiologist specializing in pediatrics. The successful candidate will provide audiological cover for ENT clinics, deliver a full range of NHS digital hearing aids, and engage in departmental audits and research. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Audiologist to join our team!
The successful candidate will:
To develop and maintain personal skills and knowledge within the audiological field, maintaining up to date knowledge of procedural and professional developments and disseminating this information to the rest of the Audiological Team as required.
To instruct and train other members of staff and locums as required.
To assess patient need for hearing aids and select the most appropriate model in line with departmental protocols.
To liaise with and refer to medical auditory implant, hearing therapy and local support services as necessary.
To provide a comprehensive range of NHS digital hearing aids to patients based on this information.
To assess the benefit derived from hearing aids, using subjective and objective measures, including informal methods, appropriate questionnaires and insertion gain measurements.
To provide ongoing assessment and maintenance for paediatric hearing impaired patients.
To liaise with staff involved in the assessment and rehabilitation process, including Audiological and Medical staff and local support services to ensure the effectiveness of routine services.
To perform more advanced test procedures, including vestibular and ERA.
Dealing with Direct Referral patients from GPs, who need to be assessed and subsequently issued with an appropriate hearing aid/s.
Tinnitus assessment and rehabilitation.
