About this role.

Our architects specialise in highly regulated and complex project delivery. We have developed a reputation for guiding every part of the design process and a proven record of delivering some of the most complex construction projects across the UK and Europe.

Joining our Motherwell office as a registered Senior Architect, you will have experience working on a variety of multi-disciplinary projects and managing a small team. Client care and repeat business are crucial to BakerHicks' success, so you’ll need to develop and nurture relationships with our clients (both internal and external).

About you

As a Senior Architect, you are expected to have a strong track record in one or, preferably, multiple sectors that BakerHicks operates in. You will have experience working on various multi-disciplinary projects and be part of a team of enthusiastic and committed architects and technicians.

You will exhibit high levels of creativity, imagination, vision, and enthusiasm to produce distinctive architectural solutions and have good knowledge in the production of technical details and specifications.

Key Purpose

• Design and specify all aspects of architecture in accordance with current guidelines, standards, regulations, and project deliverables.
• Contribute to the development and mentoring of our early careers population and the continuous improvement of departmental capabilities.
• Manage architectural involvement in multi-disciplinary projects, including time, cost, quality, and client relationship management and delivery.
• Champion quality and compliance controls within local teams and projects.

Requirements

• Registered Architect (RIBA/ARB)
• Considerable experience in design, technical detailing, and specification writing
• Ability to organise a team to develop designs from RIBA stages 0 to 7
• Management of architects, early careers, and technicians in producing calculations, design deliverables (including drawings, specifications, and reports), site surveys, construction stage duties, client liaison, liaison with design/construction teams, project management, costing, and other relevant duties.
• Take responsibility for project design team management as a Senior Architect.
