They offer a wide range of services and have an impressive commercial and domestic client base. Due to continued expansion, they are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accounts Assistant to join their professional finance team of 5. You will need to have a strong accounts background as you will be working closely alongside the Finance Manager, acting as the second in command and overseeing the finance team in the absence of the Manager.

Duties will include (but not limited)

  • Bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Processing overhead invoices
  • Processing and verifying subcontractors
  • Arranging payments for suppliers, subcontractors and HMRC
  • Completing VAT returns and CIS returns
  • Setting up suppliers and clients on SAGE then uploading onto Construction Manager system
  • Setting up job numbers and assigning invoices to the correct job
  • Managing files and archiving within retention periods
  • Covering other team members – payroll, credit control
  • Assisting the Finance Manager with any other ad hoc duties
  • Liaising with clients and subcontractors via telephone and email
  • Processing documents and saving electronic and hard copies
  • Using Excel for reporting using v-look ups and pivot tables

Working hours:

  • Monday to Friday
  • 25 – 37 hours per week (will consider someone on a full time or part time basis)

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join a fun, friendly team. You must have previous Payroll experience and have the ability to work well within a small hands-on environment. This role would be suitable for an individual from a construction/engineering background, as knowledge of CIS returns is an advantage.
