Overview

Role: SEND Project Worker for adults with mild to moderate learning disabilities (internally referred to as Building Futures Project Worker)

Location: Our sessions are based at community venues across Surrey, with this role primarily based across Guildford and Woking.

Hours: 40 hours per week. We are flexible on this being a term time only or full time contract.

Salary: £19,387.50 - £25,850 (depending on Full Time or Term time only)

Annual Leave: 33 days, inclusive of bank holidays (for full time contract only).

Training: Fully paid training is given and further development opportunities are available.

Responsibilities
  • Supporting the delivery of sessions to groups of between 5-10 young adults (please see the timetable below for an example of the types of sessions)
  • Providing a high level of service and support to our participants, colleagues and stakeholders
  • Safeguarding and ensuring a safe, caring, responsive, effective and well led service – compliant with regulations and legislation.

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Enthusiastic and caring
  • Confident in supporting and delivering outstanding person-centred sessions to groups
  • Due to the physical nature of the programme and community working, a good level of fitness and stamina is required.
  • You will ideally be proactive and keen for continuous improvement in yourself and the adults you are supporting, contributing to the development of the programme and working closely with the team.
  • Aged 18 and above.
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Please note we are currently unable to provide visa sponsorship for this role.
  • Willing to provide suitable reference and undertake a DBS Check. The initial cost of the DBS application will be paid for by halow.
  • Please note, it is a criminal offence for people who are barred from working in Regulated Activity (Under the Safeguarding and Vulnerable Groups Act 2006) to apply for a role that requires them to work unsupervised with that particular group (i.e. adults at risk, children or both).
