Primary SEND Teacher SEMH & SLCN

Location: Grimsby

Start Date: ASAP

Daily Pay: £140 £230 (dependent on experience)

TeacherActive is recruiting for a specialist SEND provision in Grimsby that supports primary-aged pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN). The school, rated Good by Ofsted, offers a highly supportive, structured environment focused on early intervention and long-term positive outcomes.

We are seeking a dedicated Primary SEND Teacher who can deliver engaging, age-appropriate learning while supporting pupils emotional regulation, communication skills, and confidence in the classroom.

The Role

As a Primary SEND Teacher, you will play a central role in supporting early development by:

• Planning and delivering differentiated lessons aligned with EHCP targets
• Teaching small class groups with consistent support from specialist Teaching Assistants
• Implementing strategies to support emotional regulation, social skills, and positive behaviour
• Using communication-focused approaches to support pupils with SLCN
• Working collaboratively with parents, carers, speech and language therapists, and other professionals

The Ideal Candidate

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or an equivalent teaching qualification
• Have experience teaching primary-aged children, particularly those with SEMH and/or SLCN needs
• Demonstrate a calm, nurturing, and consistent teaching approach
• Be confident managing behaviour using trauma-informed and positive reinforcement strategies
• Be committed to inclusive practice and safeguarding
