Job description

SEND Practitioner (Transition) opportunity to join our friendly SENDCO team in providing academic support tailored to individual students’ SEND needs.

Set in a stunning location Prior Park College established in 1830 is an exceptional 11-18 HMC day and boarding school overlooking the Georgian City of Bath a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The Learning Development Department is an innovative and forward-thinking department providing a holistic approach to support students with additional educational needs and neuro-complexities. The department strives to provide a range of intervention strategies, supporting students to navigate their learning needs whilst developing their metacognition, and ultimately academic and self-confidence. In addition, LDP work is further supported by external providers who complement our support offer, such as OT’s and SALT’s. The department recognises the need to provide support for our students in a variety of ways, from delivering study skills via small group lessons to delivering talks, advice and guidance to parents.

The SEND-Transition will teach LDP group lessons focusing on core skills for a smooth transition from KS2 to KS3 as well as supporting the KS2/KS3 transition and will motivate and inspire students, acting as a role model and supporting SEND students specifically.

We offer excellent and supportive working conditions with an attractive rewards package to include free lunch and free onsite parking plus use of onsite gym.

The role is ideally working term time plus two weeks, to be agreed (37 weeks per year) Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week, hours to be agreed between 8am and 6pm. Salary c£30kpa FTE/actual to c£25kpa. However, the department may also consider part-time / job share hours for his role.
