Job summary

An educational support provider in Greenwich is seeking a SEN Tutor to provide home and school-based tutoring for students. SEN Tutor – London • £25 - £30 per hour • Full time & Part time available

Aspire People are currently recruiting Tutors to support the learning and development of Children requiring home tutoring. Aspire People is committed to closing the attainment gap for children outside of formal schooling. We work with a wide range of Looked After Children in care who have a diverse set of needs. Tutors provide learning assistance for young people preparing for exams or re-adjusting to mainstream education. We are seeking tutors for home tuition and school-based support, with a focus on delivering core skills in English, Maths, Science and behaviour support.

Responsibilities
  • Provide tutoring for home tuition and school-based settings with a focus on core skills in Maths, English, and Science.
  • Support vulnerable young people in the care system and those with SEN, helping them adapt to and succeed in educational environments.
  • Assist students in preparation for exams and in re-adjusting to mainstream education.
  • Utilise positive behaviour strategies to help children self-regulate emotions.
Qualifications
  • Teaching for all subjects is required, with a particular focus on English, Maths & Science (No QTS needed).
  • Understanding and appreciation of working with vulnerable young people in the care system and those with SEN.
  • Positive behaviour strategy knowledge and experience of helping children self-regulate emotions.
  • Valid Enhanced DBS check.
  • Excellent written communication and reporting.
  • Excellent timekeeping and reliability.
