SEN Teaching Assistant - Full-Time, September Start in Gorton
Overview

GSL Education Manchester is recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist primary school in Gorton from September 2025 on a full-time, long-term basis. The school supports children aged 4–11 with SEN including EHCPs and a range of complex learning needs. The role includes trial days and interviews taking place this week and next.

This mainstream school has a SEN provision which provides tailored education to children with a variety of needs, including Autism, ADHD and SEMH. As an Emotionally Friendly School, the setting prioritises pupil wellbeing, inclusion, and consistent support.

About the Role

You will support children with ASC, ADHD or SEMH, helping them to engage in the curriculum and daily routines. The role includes both educational support and elements of personal care (potentially), making this an ideal opportunity for someone caring, flexible, and motivated to make a difference.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support pupils to access learning across EYFS and primary phases
  • Assist with behaviour regulation, communication, and social development
  • Work closely with teaching staff, therapists, and SENCOs to deliver personalised support
  • Provide one-to-one or small group interventions where require
  • Carry out elements of personal care with dignity and professionalism
  • Monitor pupil progress and communicate observations to the wider team
