SEN Teaching Assistant - ASD Specialist School - Term-Time Only

Are you passionate about supporting young children with special educational needs in a nurturing and inclusive SEN environment? This friendly and welcoming SEN school in Bexley has a fantastic opportunity for you.

A well-regarded SEN school in the Borough of Bexley is seeking a compassionate and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025. This is a term-time only, full-time role paid on a daily rate.

Overview

Location: London Borough of Bexley

Role: SEN Teaching Assistant supporting pupils with additional learning needs in an ASD specialist setting

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with additional learning needs
• Assist with EHCP targets and adapt activities to suit individual needs
• Support class teachers in managing behaviour and promoting engagement
• Help create a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
• Liaise with SENCOs, parents, and external professionals when needed
• Support children with SEN across EYFS, KS1 and lower KS2
• Work closely with class teachers and the SEN team

Working hours and pay: 09:00 - 15:45 with a 1 hour break; £105 per day - Term Time Only

• Experience working with children with special educational needs in a school or similar setting
• Patient, empathetic, and calm under pressure
• Proactive, enthusiastic, and able to build strong relationships with young children
• Able to follow support plans and use your initiative
• A genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs
