Smile Education are recruiting for an SEN Teaching assistant to work in a primary school in Tipton. The school is rated ‘good’ in their latest Ofsted inspection and has a strong and welcoming atmosphere within the staff team.

The SEN teaching assistant role would be working full time with children with additional needs, working Monday to Friday 8 : 30 to 3 : 30.

The Responsibilities of the SEN Teaching Assistant
  • Encouraging independence within the class and within students, being proactive
  • Develop and concentrate on building a relationship with the children, staff and family members.
  • Constant and consistent communication with the class teacher, regarding progress and potential methods of work.
  • Create a secure and positive environment for the child to learn and feel comfortable.
To apply for this SEN teaching assistant role, you will need :
  • An up-to-date DBS on the update service or dated within the last 12 months.
  • A teaching assistant qualification or health and social care (level 2 or 3).
  • Experience working with SEN children on a 1 : 1 basis or small groups work.
  • Experience working with Primary or secondary school children.
  • At least 2 professional references covering the last 2 years of work history.
