Overview

Sennen Education are working with a Specialist School who is currently recruiting for an SEND LSA / SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team. You will be working in a mixed ability class and with children who have ASD, Learning Difficulties and challenging behaviour. The position is for the entirety of the academic year and will be full time, 5 days per week with a view to start asap. Due to the nature of the role, you must be reliable, committed, punctual and reliable. The school is very warm and welcoming and are always looking for staff members to become permanent members of the team.

Responsibilities
  • Support children in a mixed ability class who have ASD, learning difficulties and challenging behaviour.
  • Work with students who have complex, profound and multiple learning difficulties, communication and language difficulties, challenging behaviours, and acute medical needs.
  • Support students with physical disabilities and sensory impairments as required.
  • Contribute to creating a positive and safe learning environment.

Contract and start

The school are looking to recruit someone who can start asap for the entirety of the academic year, with full-time hours (5 days per week). The school is open to training and developing the right candidate and may recruit additional staff in the future.
