Job description

SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Torton, Kidderminster

Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent, Term time only

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week

Hourly Rate: £12.37 - £13.49 per hour (effective from 1st January 2025)

Annual Salary: £22,102.72 - £24,103.93 (actual salary)

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to join a new ASC/SEMH school in Torton, Kidderminster, for students aged 5-19. We are looking for passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistants to make a difference in the lives of young people with special educational needs.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support children with their learning and overall wellbeing.
  • Create a safe and caring environment where every child can thrive.
  • Assist with care needs and implement positive behaviour management strategies tailored to individual students.
  • Build supportive relationships with pupils to foster their independence and personal growth.
  • Work closely with teachers to deliver a challenging and engaging curriculum.
  • Note: Does not offer visa sponsorship.
Experience & Qualifications

Essential:

  • GCSE Maths and English Level 2/C or above.
  • Understanding of Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures.

Desirable:

  • Working towards a Level 2 Award in Support Work in Schools or equivalent.
  • Experience with SEN/SEMH/ASD in an educational setting.
