Overview

Location: Brighton. Setting: Special School (Ages 4-16). Full-Time, Permanent. Needs: Autism, Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties, Communication & Sensory Needs.

We are looking for a dedicated SEN Teacher to join a warm and inclusive special school in Brighton that caters to pupils aged 4-16 with a range of additional needs including autism, moderate to severe learning difficulties, and communication and sensory processing differences.

As a permanent SEN Teacher, you'll become a key part of a skilled, collaborative team committed to helping every child thrive both academically and emotionally.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver creative, differentiated lessons to meet a wide range of learning needs
  • Create a safe, consistent, and stimulating learning environment
  • Implement EHCP targets and support personalised learning pathways
  • Work closely with support staff, therapists, and families
  • Use structured teaching strategies such as TEACCH, PECS, Makaton, and visual timetables
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive school culture that celebrates all achievements
Qualifications
  • QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Experience as an SEN Teacher or strong interest in SEN/ASD settings
