Job description

SEN Learning Support Assistants required

South East London – ASAP start – £95-110 per day.

Veritas Education is partnering with primary, secondary, and SEN schools across South East London to recruit Learning Support Assistants to support students with special educational needs and learning difficulties. Full‑time, term‑time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM.

We are looking for candidates with experience supporting students in an educational setting, particularly those with SEN or additional needs. A solid understanding of SEN and learning difficulties gained through professional experience or academic study is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEN.
• Work proactively to help students meet their academic goals.
• Encourage and motivate students to actively engage in their learning.
• Assist in creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
• Support the teacher in general learning and student development.

Ideal Candidate

• A strong understanding of special educational needs (SEN).
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with students.
• Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach.
• Reliability and a commitment to supporting students' progress.
• Enthusiasm, energy, and a positive attitude.
• The ability to work collaboratively with teachers and independently when required.
• A relevant degree and training in SEN are an advantage, as well as experience working with SEN students.
