Job summary

A reputable education provider in Banstead is looking for a passionate SEN Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support children with special educational needs in a mainstream primary school. The role involves providing 1:1 support for pupils aged 4-11 and promoting emotional regulation and resilience. Ideal candidates will have HLTA status and experience with autism and other needs. The position offers a salary range of £90-£95 depending on experience, with full-time hours from Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

  • Minimum GCSE Grade 4 (C) or above in English and Maths (or equivalent) is essential.
  • HLTA status (Level 4 or equivalent qualification or demonstrable skill level) is essential.
  • Experience supporting pupils with autism, SEMH, or additional needs in a school setting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide targeted 1:1 and small group support to pupils with a range of SEN needs.
  • Support emotional regulation and build resilience in pupils.
  • Promote positive relationships and social skills development.
  • Assist in managing behaviour in a nurturing and proactive way.
  • Foster pupils' self-esteem, confidence, and independence.
