Sheridan Maine is partnering with a well-established and expanding accountancy practice in Kent to recruit a Semi Senior or Senior Accountant. Key duties of a Semi Senior or Senior Accountant:
  • Prepare year-end statutory accounts for a range of SMEs and owner-managed businesses.
  • Assist with bookkeeping, VAT returns, and management accounts.
  • Prepare basic corporate and personal tax returns.
  • Support senior staff during client meetings and with technical queries.
  • Communicate with clients to gather information and resolve queries.
  • Help mentor trainee staff (for Senior level applicants).
  • Contribute to workflow efficiency and support the smooth running of the practice.
Qualifications to succeed as a Semi Senior or Senior Accountant:
  • AAT qualified, part-qualified ACCA/ACA, or qualified by experience.
  • Previous experience working within an accountancy practice.
  • Strong understanding of accounts preparation and general practice duties.
  • Confident communicator with strong client-facing skills.
  • Proactive, organised, and able to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Knowledge of cloud accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage) is advantageous.
