Overview

Job Title: SEMH Tutor (Primary & Secondary) - Reading

Location: Reading (Flexible/Remote options may be considered)

Pay: £20 - £30 per hour

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate SEMH Tutor to support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs, including anxiety, low confidence, and Emotional Based School Avoidance (EBSA). This role involves working with both primary and secondary level students, so a range of experience is highly beneficial.

Responsibilities
  • Assess individual student needs and develop tailored schemes of work
  • Plan and deliver personalised tutoring sessions focused on SEMH support
  • Build positive relationships to foster student confidence and emotional well-being
  • Adapt teaching strategies to suit varying student requirements and learning styles
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to students and parents/guardians
What We\'re Looking For
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a minimum of 3 years\' tutoring experience
  • Proven experience supporting students with SEMH needs, including anxiety, low confidence, and EBSA
  • Ability to work with students across both primary and secondary education levels
  • Strong assessment, planning, and delivery skills for tailored educational programmes
  • Empathy, patience, and excellent communication skills
