Security Consultant – Information Protection / DLP (Contract)

We’re recruiting an experienced Security Consultant to support a large‑scale Information Protection and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) programme within a complex enterprise environment.

This is a hands‑on contract role focused on designing, deploying and enhancing DLP and data classification controls across a Microsoft security estate, covering technology, process and people change.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead delivery of Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and information protection initiatives
  • Deploy and enhance data classification and labelling controls
  • Work across Microsoft security technologies including Purview, Azure Information Protection (AIP) and Defender for Cloud Apps
  • Support development of security governance, policies and standards
  • Contribute to DLP response and investigation processes where required
  • Engage with technical and non‑technical stakeholders, including HR and Legal
  • Drive delivery independently across multiple workstreams
Required Experience
  • Proven experience delivering DLP / information protection programmes
  • Strong knowledge of data classification, data leakage prevention and governance
  • Hands‑on experience within Microsoft security environments
  • Understanding of data privacy, compliance and legal considerations
  • Ability to lead delivery with minimal oversight
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
Desirable
  • CISSP or CISM certification
  • Background in security consulting or enterprise transformation programmes

This role suits a senior‑level security consultant with real delivery experience, rather than SOC, IR or penetration testing profiles.
