Job Title: Security Advisor - Information Security

What you'll be doing
  • Advise business stakeholders on Information Security best practices, policies, and processes to support compliance, manage risk, and help achieve business goals
  • Ensure secure handling of classified materials in all formats, in line with contract requirements, while maintaining good coordination with local teams and business contacts
  • Monitor the adequacy of the security measures within their business area to ensure that policies and procedures are up-to-date and take account of developments and respond to security incidents
  • Conduct and review security assessments and define operational requirements for the assigned workstreams to protect classified assets
  • Collect and evaluate data to create reports or presentations for teams and managers as well as support a good security culture by promoting awareness and setting a positive example that demonstrates BAE Systems values
  • Providing advice and guidance on the application of Security grading as appropriate to individual programmes and or functions
  • Support security risk assessments and helps drive improvements and continuously look for ways to enhance Information and Cyber Security practices
Your skills and experiences

Essential:

  • Ability to go through and obtain DV Clearance (when required)
  • Good knowledge of relevant security services, e.g. personnel security, information security, cyber and IT security, classified materials management, asset protection, etc.
  • Good understanding of government and industry standards and best practice guidance

Desirable:

  • Experience in a security role, ideally within CNI, Defence or a similar regulated environment

The Information Security team

You will be reporting to the Senior Security Manager and will be carrying out a range of tasks in support of the delivery of the Information Security and IT service. You will be assisting the team with general office management duties as well as working with data to identify solutions to known problems. This is a great opportunity to get exposure across the business working with a variety of stakeholders and being able to influence the security aspects of all future submarine products. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
