Secondary Computing Teacher

Start: ASAP – Contract: Full-time

Milk Education seeks a skilled, knowledgeable and resilient Computing Teacher to join a forward‑thinking department in a Secondary school in South Yorkshire. The role involves teaching KS3 and KS4 Computing, delivering practical and theory‑based lessons across relevant areas such as Computer Science, Programming, Digital Literacy and IT. This full‑time position starts as soon as possible and offers the opportunity to become permanent for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high‑quality Computing lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Plan and deliver engaging practical and theory‑based lessons, including programming and problem‑solving tasks
  • Ensure a safe and well‑managed classroom environment that supports effective learning
  • Inspire computational thinking, creativity, and independent problem‑solving
  • Assess student progress and adapt teaching strategies to support learning
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support curriculum development and student outcomes
  • Uphold the values and standards of Milk Education and our partner schools
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Specialism in Computing – able to teach KS3 and KS4
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Sound knowledge of the Computing national curriculum, including Computer Science fundamentals
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one through Milk Education)
