Overview

At The Entertainer, Blackburn in The Mall Shopping Centre, we love to create memories for all customers who come through our doors, helping to find the perfect toy or gift, keeping the shelves full and our stores welcoming. This Seasonal Sales Assistant role is for the busy Christmas period, with a love of toys, customer service and an enthusiastic personality being a good match.

Responsibilities

• Be reliable and flexible in what hours you can work; there may be the chance of extra hours if we’re busy.
• Approachable and confident to deliver excellent customer service.
• Physically fit and able to move stock around the store, work with deliveries and pallets both on your own and as a team.
• Be willing and able to help out in our local Tesco concession space as needed.
• Merchandising, keeping the shelves full, talking to customers and handling deliveries.

Key Information about this role

• Rates of Pay: 16-20 year olds – £11.00 per hour; 21-year-old plus – £12.21 per hour.
• Contract end date: 3rd January 2026.
• Our stores will be open 7 days a week, so you will need to be able to support us at weekends including Sundays.
• Hours available:
  • 12-hour per week contract: 4-hour shifts over 3 days, or two 6-hour shifts
  • 8-hour per week contract: typically 4-hour shifts over 2 days, or one full day
• There may also be an opportunity to work extra hours in this role, depending on trade.

Schedule & commitments

All Seasonal Sales Assistant contracts include working on peak days: Christmas Eve, Boxing Day or New Year’s Eve, which are among the busiest days of the year.
