My client delivers seamless road, sea, and air freight solutions across the UK and Europe, supported by an expert in-house customs team. They are currently seeking a Sea & Air Freight Coordinator to support the day to day management of Sea and Air services; to affect the relay of information between customers and subcontractors, ensuring accurate and profitable operation of the Sea and Air department.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate export and import shipments via sea and air freight (FCL, LCL, and cross-trade), working closely with overseas partners, shipping lines, hauliers, and agents to ensure all transport details are accurate and all parties are updated on progress, including any delays or schedule changes.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with both existing and prospective customers.
- Prepare quotes for potential projects, checking feasibility and availability, and advise customers on the most suitable services.
- Negotiate rates with carriers and clients to secure bookings efficiently.
- Communicate daily with subcontractors to obtain updates on in-transit shipments, including ETAs, and update transport software to ensure collections and deliveries remain on schedule.
- Create and update orders and customer profiles in the transport management system as required.
- Review and process all necessary documentation such as bills of lading, air waybills, and invoices, and upload all relevant instructions, documents, and correspondence to the respective orders.
- Conduct credit checks on potential new customers and forward approved details to the Accounts team.
- Record all relevant information on the transport system in the event of an incident that may result in an insurance claim and forward details to the claims team.
- Take reasonable care for your own health and safety and that of others affected by your work, adhering to all relevant Health and Safety regulations and cooperating with management to ensure compliance.
- Undertake any additional duties or responsibilities reasonably requested by management.
Experience Required
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in sea and air exports
- Previous experience with sea and air imports, and export documentation such as: bills of lading, airway bills, certificates of origin, etc.
- Minimum of 3 GCSE's at C and above, including English and Mathematics or equivalent
- Experienced in Microsoft Office including Excel, Outlook and Word
- Good written and spoken English
- Excellent communication skills
- A positive and proactive attitude

- Compliance with global customs regulations related to documentation
