A leading genomic solutions provider in London is seeking a lab scientist to support DNA sequencing projects and improve application workflows. The ideal candidate will have a Master’s or PhD in molecular biology or biochemistry, with strong skills in DNA sequencing and instrumentation. This position requires laboratory work. As such, the candidate will be expected to perform pilot projects which have been agreed as part of pre‑sales opportunities or strategic collaborations. The candidate will also contribute to workflow improvements through participation in beta testing of new kits, protocols, and applications. The candidate is a partner to field teams and can help overcome technical escalations by performing troubleshooting experiments or tests. Finally, the candidate will be responsible to maintain and prepare the lab so that applications and instrument training courses can be performed.
Important aspects of this role are the ability to work and communicate effectively with field teams and internal stakeholders from a wide variety of backgrounds. The candidate will be working in a fast‑paced commercial environment and needs to be highly self‑motivated and organized. The position will require to be domiciled in London.
You may be required from time to time to visit and work at PacBio locations and for such times as the Company considers necessary for the proper performance of your duties.
