A forward thinking secondary school in Wakefield is seeking a knowledgeable and skilled Science Teacher to join their department from January. This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who enjoys evidence informed practice and takes pride in rigorous, well-structured lessons that help students make strong and sustained progress.

About the role

You’ll deliver a balanced KS3 and KS4 curriculum across Biology, Chemistry and Physics, supported by a well equipped department and clear schemes of learning. The school values precise instruction, consistent routines and high expectations, so you’ll have the conditions you need to teach your subject with clarity and confidence.

The role includes:

  • Planning and delivering sequenced, high quality lessons aligned with curriculum intent
  • Using assessment to identify misconceptions and adapt teaching responsively
  • Supporting practical investigations with an emphasis on safety, curiosity and scientific accuracy
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to refine resources and share best practice
  • Contributing to the wider life of the school through enrichment or tutoring
