Skills & Experience

The Dean Trust is seeking to appoint a talented and enthusiastic School Governance Professional to join our dedicated team at Dean Trust Wigan / Dean Trust Rose Bridge. The core purpose of the role will be to support effective governance by providing and maintaining an effective clerking support service to two local governing committees in Wigan.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the LGC in the scheduling of meetings in line with the guidance issued by the Trust.
  • Agree agendas with the Headteacher and the Chair in line with the trust model agenda.
  • Attend all LGC and committee meetings and produce accurate minutes within agreed timescales and in line with the trust protocols.

Further details about the role

There are 13 pre‑scheduled meetings every academic year, with 4 additional meetings held as required. Meetings are predominantly after the school has closed for the day between 16:00 – 18:00. Occasionally, you would be required to attend a meeting during the school day, but these can usually be at a time to suit the post holder. Flexibility around remote attendance for some meetings can be considered.
