A local government organization in Musselburgh seeks a School and Family Support Worker to enhance pupil outcomes by engaging with families. The role involves collaborating with class teachers and providing a vital link between home and school. Ideal candidates will have experience with vulnerable children and community support understanding. This is a full-time position with a salary range of £16.14 - £17.24 per hour.
We are seeking a suitably qualified School and Family Support Worker to join our team at Pinkie St Peter's Primary School. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with class teachers, the senior leadership team, our pupils and families to improve pupil outcomes in attendance, achievement and social and emotional goals. The School and Family Support Worker will provide a vital link between home and school, removing barriers, promoting engagement, and supporting the whole family unit. The ideal candidate will have experience working with vulnerable young people and families, and a sound understanding of community support networks and agencies.
The salary advertised is full time (35 hours per week, 52 weeks per year). Part-time hours / sessional posts will be pro-rated accordingly.
Hourly rate of pay: £16.14 - £17.24
Temporary until March 2026.
Days and hours of work: Monday - Thursday, 08:00-16:15; Friday, 08:00-13:15. To start asap.
