School Business Manager
  • Location: Poulton-le-Fylde
  • Contract Type: Full-Time, Temporary
  • Salary: £21.12 per hour
  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:40 – 16:00
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Duration: Until the school appoints a permanent candidate (At least New Year)

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized School Business Manager to join our team on a temporary basis. This key leadership role is responsible for managing the school’s financial, administrative, and operational functions to ensure smooth day-to-day running.

Day-to-day of the role

  • Oversee the school’s financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Manage HR processes, payroll, and staff recruitment in line policies.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and school governance requirements.
  • Lead on procurement and contract management for goods and services.
  • Supervise administrative staff and ensure efficient office operations.
  • Support the Headteacher and senior leadership team with strategic planning and resource allocation.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure confidentiality at all times.
  • Required Skills & Qualifications
    • Previous experience as a School Business Manager or similar role within an educational setting.
    • Strong knowledge of financial management and HR processes.
    • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
    • Proficient in MS Office and school management systems.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
    • Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain).
